Crakes and Rails

This is only a short list of species only consisting of two bird the Moorhen and the Coot, but there well could be three on this list and I think you know what I am specking of, that's right the Water Rail. This is because some time in the near future Tucklesholme will be made into a huge wetland reserve which will encourage all kinds of wetland birds.

Moorhen - Gallinula chloropus
The Moorhen is a regular sighting and is mostly seen on the banks of the river hiding away in the over hanging grasses.

Coot - Fulica atra
Another common bird at Tucklesholme usually seen on one of the two pits.
